| 120x190 cm | 200x200 cm | 40 cm |

Synthetic or natural filling?
There are two types of filling available on the duvet market: synthetic filling and natural filling.
Synthetic duvets are made of polyester fibers (microfiber, hollow fiber, microfiber balls, 3D, 6D, etc.). The more the fibers are designed to contain air, the lighter they are while remaining insulating. Its siliconized hollow fibers contain more air for more warmth and insulation. Synthetic duvets are generally light, easy to maintain and above all less expensive than natural duvets. If you suffer from allergies, we advise you to buy a synthetic duvet that benefits from an anti-mite and antibacterial treatment.
Natural duvets have a more luxurious and warm filling. They are more durable and guarantee warm nights, especially thanks to the down. However, maintenance is more delicate, it is advisable not to wash them yourself and to take them to the dry cleaners. In addition, the risk of allergies is higher. The price is also higher, it varies according to the percentage of down. The higher it is, the more expensive the duvet. If you sweat at night, be careful of feathers and down which are heavier and therefore promote perspiration. In this case, a synthetic duvet is more recommended!
A seasonal weight
Usually, you will find 3 types of weights depending on the seasons:
- 175 to 200 g/m² for summer duvets
- 300 to 350 g/m² for mid-season duvets
- 400 to 500 g/m² for winter duvets
The more down a natural duvet has, the lighter it is. For a summer duvet with 90% down, the weight is around 180 g/m². Expect 270 g/m² for a winter model. For the same insulation performance, synthetic duvets are a little heavier: 200 to 250 g/m² for a summer duvet and 300 to 450 g/m² for a winter duvet. There are very warm duvets with 500 g/m² of synthetic filling.
Care instructions
How do I wash my duvet?
At SAMPUR, we favor easy-care duvets to avoid dry cleaning appointments. All our duvets are machine washable. When washing your synthetic duvet, we recommend using a small amount of detergent and avoiding fabric softener.
When should I renew my duvet?
It all depends on your filling! If you have followed everything, you can opt for a synthetic or natural duvet. If you choose a synthetic duvet, it should be changed every 4 years on average. On the other hand, if you have purchased a natural duvet, you can extend this duration to around 10 years.
