Why buy a very warm duvet?

Buying a very warm duvet is often recommended for winter, particularly suitable for people who are sensitive to the cold or if the temperature in your room remains cool.

Feather and down duvet fillings promise you warm and soothing nights. Down and feathers help retain heat naturally, which is ideal for cool nights.

Also, using a very warm duvet will allow you to save energy because you will no longer need to turn the heating to maximum in your room. Very warm duvets are ideal during very cold periods.

What weight for our very warm duvets?

If you don't like turning on the heating and have freezing temperatures in the room, or if you are particularly sensitive to the cold and like to be nice and warm at night, a duvet of 500g/m2 or more is ideal.

The higher the weight of the duvet, the thicker the duvet will be. Its thickness will retain the heat that your body gives off under the duvet during the night.

How to choose a very warm duvet for winter?

When buying a very warm duvet for winter, several criteria must be taken into account:

THEgrammage: this is the weight of the filling expressed in g/m2. This unit tells you about the warmth and the loft of the duvet. Therefore, the higher the weight of the duvet, the warmer the duvet will be. The quality of the filling is also taken into account: the higher the quality, the greater the impact on the density.

THEfilling: Natural with feather and down, you will also find duvets with synthetic filling, most of the time in polyester.

The heat index is very valuable for ideal sleep. The latter depends on thetemperatureof your room. For a very warm duvet the temperature of your room must be equal to or less than 18° C.

As for thesize , the duvet should extend 20 to 50 cm beyond each side of the mattress so that you do not feel any air entering once you are lying in your bed. For example, for a 140 * 200 cm mattress we recommend aduvet size 200 * 200 cm.
