What type of bed base should I choose: Slats or blocks?

Choosing your bed base is an essential step to ensure quality sleep.

The main advantage ofslatted bed baseFrom a financial perspective, a slatted bed base is less expensive than a sprung bed base because the slats are cheaper to produce. Our slatted bed bases are made of durable poplar, a light and soft wood that offers excellent resistance.

The main advantage of aslatted bed baseis the quality of suspension it provides. The independence of each block allows for precise three-dimensional support (i.e., in width, depth and height).

The slats tilt and follow your body's movements during sleep to minimize pressure points on the mattress. The slatted bed base offers excellent motion isolation.

How to assemble your bed base

First, check that all the components are present when you receive your bed base kit. The bed frame can then be assembled and the main components put in place. The next step is to install the bed base legs, and then to put the central support rail in place.

If the frame doesn't have pre-drilled holes for the legs, you can drill your own or use the adapters provided. Next, check the sturdiness of the frame to ensure it's strong and doesn't make unpleasant noises during daily use. Finally, align the slats with the frame; they must be evenly spaced to properly support the weight of the mattress. The slats should be evenly spaced for perfect uniformity. These slats must completely cover the inner surface of the frame.
