Assembly steps:

Attach the two metal strips to the back panel of the bed using the pre-drilled holes. No additional drilling is required.
Attach the corresponding strips to the back of the headboard, in the locations provided for this purpose.
Simply fit the headboard by sliding the headboard slats into those of the bed frame.

Once the slats are engaged, the headboard is perfectly held and stable.
